October 10, saw the release of Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Published by WB Games and developed by Monolith Productions, the sequel to 2014’s Shadow of Mordor continues the story of Talion and Celebrimbor. Their partnership exists in resistance to the infamous Dark Lord Sauron, though defeating him can’t be done without an army or two. Watch the launch trailer below.
Shadow of War expands the mechanics of its predecessor and introduces new faction dynamics and means of recruitment to build your forces. As the game’s tagline states, nothing will be forgotten with its unique Nemesis system—you’ll make plenty of friends and even more enemies along the way.
For those who enjoyed the first game, this is definitely a second-helping of the action and adventure. Shadow of War adds even more layers to its RPG aspects and boosts the scale in fortress siege situations. With generally positive reviews out the gate, it’s more than likely worth a shot.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
