Microsoft is making a major expansion to its subscription-based game library service. The Xbox Game Pass, which currently offers over 100 games to download and play on Xbox One consoles for $9.99/month, will now include all games published by Microsoft Studios on their release date.
This news comes right before the launch of Sea of Thieves, one of Microsoft Studios promising multiplayer-based exclusives. Sea of Thieves will release on March 20th and will be available for free to anyone subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass. The same will follow suit for Crackdown 3 and other upcoming titles from Microsoft.
Microsoft’s top franchises such as Halo, Gears of War, and Forza will also be available to Game Pass subscribers upon release. If you aren’t interested in the Xbox Game Pass at its current price point, Microsoft plans to offer $59.99 yearly subscriptions at select retailers for those looking for a full year of Xbox exclusives.
