In total, Halo 5: Guardians will have twenty maps at launch with an additional fifteen maps coming between October 2015 and June 2016.

Warzone is a new 12v12 game mode which incorporates every element on the Halo sandbox and for the first time, adds A.I. into the multiplayer modes. Players can fight it out with each other and choose to kill various A.I. bosses which spawn throughout the match to earn more points.

With this being such a big and new game mode, 343 Industries have put a lot of effort into it so that it lives up to the standard of both Arena and previous Halo titles. At launch, there will be six maps which have been designed and created specifically for Warzone, meaning that fourteen of the remaining twenty maps will be used for Arena and Big Team Battle.

Between October 2015 and June 2016, an additional six maps once again designed and created for Warzone will also be released for free. 343 Industries is fully committed to supporting this game mode in the long run and their map count for the new game mode shows this.
