Ever since the Warzone announcement at E3 2015 which brings the player count up to 24 from the standard 16, many Halo players have wondered if we will be able to have 24 players in custom games for the first time ever.
Sadly, today on our forums, Josh Holmes – Studio Head on Halo 5: Guardians – confirmed that Halo 5: Guardians custom games will still be capped at 16 players, just like past Halo titles. While this is upsetting news, it makes sense considering Warzone itself won’t be available in custom games at all and instead will only be available in matchmaking.
To bring in some positive news, Holmes also confirmed that some Forge related news would likely be dropping next week in the same post. After seeing the recent gameplay videos of Breakout which take place entirely on maps created from Forge pieces, we’re all excited to see what’s new.
Will you be jumping into custom games during the Halo 5: Guardians launch week and trying out all the new options? Be sure to join the discussion on our forums and let us know!
