Today we’re proud to announce Gamers Outreach Foundation is partnering with 343 Industries to produce the Gamers for Giving 2015 Halo tournament! Our upcoming February event will be a Platinum tiered tournament of the Halo Championship Series.
As anyone familiar with our history knows, Halo has been a title near and dear to our hearts since the early days of our organization. We’re proud to say the Halo franchise has remained a part of the Gamers for Giving story, and we’re incredibly excited to up the ante for our Halo competitors this February.
For those not familiar, the Halo Championship Series is the official Halo eSports league, designed to curate a quality experience for Halo competitive enthusiasts and fans of Halo eSports. Events that are sanctioned as “HCS events” are independently operated, and provide Halo competitors with the opportunity to earn prize money and HCS points. Teams with the most HCS points at the end of a competitive season are invited to a “Season Finals” event, hosted by ESL and 343 Industries.
Gamers for Giving 2015 will be taking place over the course of February 21st and 22nd. It will be the last opportunity for Halo teams to earn points before the season finals in March. The event will be hosted on the college campus of Eastern Michigan University within the Grand Ballroom of the University Student Center. Hotel and travel information can be found here.
As a Platinum tiered HCS event, the Gamers for Giving 2015 Halo tournament will feature a $10,000 prize pool, as well as HCS points for top placing teams. The prize structure will be as follows:
1st Place: 3000 HCS Points | $6,000
2nd Place: 2000 HCS Points | $3,000
3rd Place: 1400 HCS Points | $1,000
