In September of 2016, Bungie released Rise of Iron, the newest expansion for Destiny. Alongside the expansion came the arrival of a frequent item of community demand—Private Matches. Private matches in Destiny would of course pave the way for competition and esports, something that is on plenty of gamers’ minds.
ESL, one of the leaders in esports tournament operation, has officially announced that they will be expanding into the field of Destiny. Alongside their announcement of their first 4v4 Destiny tournament, they have announced their ruleset for competitive Destiny that they have crafted alongside competitive players. Details below.
Item & Perk Bans
With numerous items banned from competitive play, as well as new gameplay rules, competitive Destiny is off to an interesting start. The first ESL Destiny tournament will take place on January 8th for the European region.
