In a recent press release from Activision, the publishers for the Call of Duty franchise, we have learned that Sledgehammer Games will NOT be developing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

While Sledgehammer will still be working on the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game, a yet to be announced studio will be working on the Xbox 360 & Playstation 3 versions.

Earlier this year, news came out that Advanced Warfare will be the first Call of Duty title to developed for the next-generation of consoles and past-generation consoles will be a secondary priority.

Something similar happened with Respawn Entertainment’s game – Titanfall. Bluepoint Studios were put in charge of making the Xbox 360 port of the game, which ultimately ended up in the game being pushed back not once, but twice and finally released a month after the Xbox One & PC versions.

While we don’t know the developer, or if the game will ultimately be delayed on past-generation consoles, but if you are stuck between if you should buy the game for current or past-generation consoles, the Xbox One or Playstation 4 would be your best bet.
