The DLC schedule for DICE’s World War I FPS, Battlefield 1, marches on. The next content drop will come later this winter in the form of the Turning Tides DLC. The DLC will be focused more on the naval combat of World War I, similar to Battlefield 4’s Naval Strike DLC. Premium users can continue to expect this content 2 weeks before non-Premium users. Let’s take a look at what Turning Tides will include.
The content drop in December will feature the bulk of the update, with the January content drop bringing in some small amounts of additional content. The December update will include 2 new maps, Achi Baba and Cape Helles and will also introduce the Gallipoli Operation spanning both of these maps. 6 new weapons will be introduced, with players getting their hands on the M1917 Trench Carbine, Maschinenpistole M1912/P.16, Farquhar-Hill, M1917 MG, Carcano M91 Carbine, and Type 38 Arisaka. 2 new melee weapons will join the existing arsenal, the Naval Cutlass and Grappling Hook. The update will also include 2 new vehicles, the L-Class Destroyer and C-Class Airship as well as the new Infiltrator Elite Class.
The January content drop is less substantial. 2 new maps that retain a focus on naval combat will be introduced, Heligoland Blight and Zeebrugge. A new faction will also be joining the standing roster, with the British Royal Marines seeing their first in-game combat.
