A new video on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel provides a look at what’s to come post-launch for Assassin’s Creed: Origins. There’s two DLCs planned, exclusive content for Season Pass holders, as well as free content for all players. Watch Origins director Ashraf Ismail break it down below.
The first DLC, called The Curse of the Pharaohs, takes a deep dive into the mythology of Ancient Egypt in a new journey for Bayek. According to Ismail, it becomes a living nightmare in a “large, new, open-world region”.
The second, The Hidden Ones, takes place years after the story of Origins. Bayek journeys to the Sinai Peninsula where a clash between rebels and Romans brews. This DLC expands Bayek’s role as the forefather of the Brotherhood and takes players to yet another explorable region.
The content exclusive to Season Pass-holders include the Roman Centurion and Horus packs. Both unlock some sweet-looking gear and new mounts for Bayek to ride.
For all players to experience post-launch, there will be live activities. First are The Trials of the Gods, which test a player’s progression and strength. A glitch in the animus pits Bayek against larger-than-life figures of Egyptian mythology—surely there’s loot to be had. Then, a daily feature called Nomad’s Bazaar has players complete quests to earn random rewards.
Updates coming to the game include a photo mode. It definitely has a resemblance to Horizon Zero Dawn’s comprehensive photography functions, showing filters ways to manipulate the camera. There’s also a Horde mode coming to Origins where you face wave after wave in the gladiator’s arena, as well as the previously announced Discovery Tour.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins arrives October 27 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
